commercial, financial, cultural and political heart of the country. 2/3 of the national industry is concentrated here and the

largest airport in the country is located. Lima is one of the very few South American cities that preserve the colonial past

and in 1991 its colonial center was declared a world heritage site by the UNESCO; we will visit the Convent of San

Francisco, with its Baroque-Limeño style facade and the Cathedral which overlooks the Plaza de Armas and houses

Pizarro's tomb.

7th century pre-Columbian pyramid. The Museum houses a large collection of gold, silver and ceramics and is one of

On Sundays, the town of Chinchero hosts a still authentic market joined by the inhabitants of the surrounding areas to barter (exchange) their products with the locals. From this village you have spectacular views of the Sacred Valley mountains and there is a small but interesting colonial church (not always open to the public).

In addition to the market, we will visit the beautiful archaeological site and be able to attend a demonstration on wool processing; the kind ladies of Chinchero will introduce us to this real art: from washing the wool to its spinning, the coloring process with natural dyes obtained from local plants and finally the weaving with an artisanal loom. (The Chinchero market is only open on Sundays)

Later, we will have the opportunity to see the Maras salt mines located at the slope of a mountain and divided into numerous pools that receive salt water coming from underground. This salt mine is one of the oldest in Peru, it is known that they were exploited before the arrival of the Incas in the region. For environmental protection it is no longer possible to visit the pools, so the visit will consist of admiring the salt mines from the Viewer.

Lunch at restaurant.

Continuation to visit the village of Ollantaytambo to visit the impressive archaeological site. Pachacutec, one of the most representative protagonists of the Inca era, conquered the region and built the village and a large ceremonial center which served as a fort for the resistance during the era of the Spanish conquest.

NOTE: During the rainy season (from the end of November to the beginning of April) the visit to Maras is replaced with the visit to Moray: visit to the village and archaeological site of Moray, formed by a system of Inca terraces built like an amphitheatre. You will also appreciate picturesque colonial-style rural houses. NOTE: The Chinchero market is only on Sundays, on other days you will visit the Pisac market

** Passengers will have to leave with a backpack with everything needed for 2 days and 1 night as only hand luggage with a total weight of 5 kg is allowed on the train to Aguas Calientes. The suitcases will remain kept in the hotel in Cusco.

The ruins are located on the top of Machu Picchu (old mountain in Quechua), at the foot of Huayna Picchu (young mountain), surrounded by the Urubamba and Vilcanota rivers. The complex is divided into two large areas: the agricultural area, formed by typical Inca terraces which is located to the south and the urban area to the north, which was the area dedicated to daily, civil and religious activities.

Lunch not included.

Return to Aguas Calientes and departure by train to Poroy station, continuation to Cusco and accommodation in the hotel.

Dinner not included.

Overnight at XIMA CUSCO**** or SIMILAR hotel (standard room)

Day 10 : Tuesday / Cusco : City + Ruins + San Pedro Market

Location: Coricancha, Cuzco

Accommodation Name: Xima Cuzco

Breakfast.

Visit to the city of Cusco. Visit of Korikancha, the most sacred religious center of the Inca era dedicated to the cult of the Sun god and on which, after the arrival of the Spanish, the Convent of Santo Domingo was built. Continuation towards the Plaza de Armas, where according to legend the golden staff of the Inca Manco Capac was stuck, indicating the exact place where to found the city that would become the capital of the Empire. Visit to the large Cathedral, built in the 16th century on the foundations of the Inca Palace of Viracocha.

Then visit the ruins outside the city: the Qenqo amphitheater, center of worship of the Pachamama (Mother Earth in Quechua); Tambomachay, known as “Inca Bath”, a center dedicated to the cult of water. Last stop in Sacsayhuaman, still the subject of archaeological studies today. This site covers an area of 6 km2 and is thought to be a multipurpose center like Machu Picchu.

At the end of the visits, the guide will accompany you to discover the lively San Pedro Market. This market absolutely deserves to be visited, both for its architectural structure (the construction was followed by Gustav Eiffel...the same as the Tower!), for its liveliness and its colors, and for the interesting products that can be found at very good prices. From the freshest fruit juices to tortillas and other typical Andean products, from handicrafts to coca leaves and llama fetuses for ceremonies of thanks to the land... * a truly unique experience.

* The market is within walking distance, so you may decide to stay there and return to the hotel on your own.

Lunch not included.

Afternoon at leisure to walk around the city.

Dinner in a restaurant with folklore show.

Overnight at XIMA CUSCO**** or SIMILAR hotel (standard room)

Day 11 : Wednesday / Cusco Flight To Lima

We are an Online Travel Agency, specialized in Group Vacations and Private Vacations. We have been in business for over 30 years through our sister company Go West Tours and, throughout the years, have developed an extensive network of trusted professionals around the world and a structured methodology to screen our suppliers. Today Voyages offers a selection of tours that are designed, managed and operated by our network of trusted Tour Operators and DMCs. Our database is connected with our partners so that when you make a booking with us this will immediately be received and processed by the Tour Operator.

  • Where should I buy the flights to reach my destination?

Today Voyages does not sell flights directly. None of our tours come with flights included. Why? Because we prefer to give full flexibility to our valued customers to select the airlines and the booking platform they prefer. As soon as your flight is booked and confirmed, we invite you to update your flight plan within your Today Voyages booking confirmation page by entering your flight number, departure and arrival times, as well as your Passport information (if needed). None of these fields are mandatory but we highly encourage you to provide as much information as possible. This will allow us to provide you with the excellent service you are looking for.

  • What is an additional excursion or tour optional?

Certain tours might show a selection of additional excursions/optional activities that you may want to add to our standard itinerary. These services are priced separately and can be added to the cart before completing the booking. We believe these optional services to contribute to making your vacation unforgettable; however, you are in no way obliged to purchase them. All our tours are awesome with our without optional services!

  • What is the difference between Group Vacations and Private Vacations?

If you purchase one of our Group vacation packages, you will be escorted by a professional tour guide and will be traveling with other like-minded travelers you may not know. The group size depends on the tour you select. If you purchase one of our Private vacation packages, you will be traveling only within your group of friends. You may or may not be escorted by a professional tour guide; this depends on the type of private tour you are interested in.

  • When and how will I receive the travel documents (vouchers)?

If you book one of our Group or Private tours, you will receive your travel documents via email approximately 20 days prior to travel date. If you reserve one of our Vacation Rentals, you will hear back from the property manager via email a few days prior to checking-in. We recommend checking your emails on a regular basis as this is our most reliable method of communication. If you have questions or need additional support, you can always chat with us or email us directly.

  • What happens if a Group tour does not get confirmed?

It is very simple... you will be offered an alternative departure date or be refunded the full amount you pre-paid. No questions asked!

  • What happens after I book?

The majority of our tours are confirmed at the time of booking. This means that, after submitting the payment online, you will receive an order confirmation email; make sure to save this email and to note down your confirmation number for any future communication with us. Some tours may be sold on a 'on request' basis. This means that for these tours we reserve the right to check the availability of your spot(s) with the Tour Operator before confirming the tour to you. As soon as you submit the payment online for a 'on request' tour you will receive an email notification that confirms your order request. Within 72 hours, you will receive either a confirmation email or a denial email. Do not worry... we will do everything we can to confirm your tour!

Unforgettable tour in the US National Parks

04-May-2022

I booked a guided tour in the National Parks through Today Voyages and couldn't have been happier! Our guide was great, he knew the destination very well and gave us great advice for the best hikes and view points. The itinerary was well-packed and we were amazed at the scenery of the South West. We would definitely consider booking another tour next year.

Top Experience!

03-Feb-2023

The Las Vegas and the National Parks Hiking Tour is a deal not to be missed. What a phenomenal trip! We were 14 people in our minibus and it was great to connect to all of them. So many stories to share. The cool thing about this tour is that it attracts hikers of all kinds: laid back hikers as well as more experienced ones could find beauty in every single destination this tour took us to. I will for sure join another tour soon. Thank you guys, also, for the assistance provided throughout the trip. Loved it!

Unforgettable 8-day trip to Kenya

01-Mar-2023

I just came back from an unforgettable 8-day trip to Kenya. A mix of relaxation and adventure. I had never traveled with a group before and, honestly, I was a little skeptical at the beginning. Pauline at Today Voyages convinced me that this was the right tour and the right destination for me. And the truth is... she was right. Tsavo and Watamu are such awesome destinations, our guide was impeccable and it was a small group: a family of 4, a young couple, and us. We became friends. Highly recommended!
