Day 1: Cusco – Km 82 – Hatunchaca – Ayapata

Your trekking team will pick you up from your hotel between 4:30 am (depending on your location) and drive for 3 hours to KM. 82 to start the Inca Trail – arriving at approximately 8.00 am. After a delicious breakfast, we will head straight to the checkpoint to begin your trekking to Machu Picchu. It is a relatively easy two-hour walk to Patallacta, the first Inca site along the trail. From a unique, secluded location, we will enjoy the breathtaking views of this ancient city. It is another two-hour walk to Hatunchaca – located in the heart of the Inca trail, where lunch will be waiting. We will walk for another two hours to the first campsite located in Ayapata, arriving at approximately 5:00 pm. Your tent, a snack, and a hot drink will be waiting for you. You will then have some time to rest and enjoy the view of the mountains before dinner.

Day 2: Ayapata – Dead Woman’S Pass – Chaquicocha

We will wake you up bright and early with a hot cup of coffee or cocoa tea. Today will be the most challenging part of the Machu Picchu trek, and after breakfast, it is a 4-hour trek uphill to Dead Woman’s Pass. At 4215m / 13829ft., this is the highest point along the Inca Trail. At the summit, we will take time to appreciate the serenity of this location while your guide completes a traditional offering ceremony to the Apus (local Gods). After a 2-hour downhill trek to Pacaymayu Valley, we will enjoy a well-earned lunch. The second pass is an easier 2-hours climb, and we will take time to explore two Inca sites along the way; RuncuRaccay and Sayacmarca. It is a 20-minute walk to the second campsite at Chaquicocha (dry lake, 3600m / 11811 ft.), where you will be able to admire a beautiful sunset over the Vilcabamba mountain range before dinner. With an unobstructed view of the constellations, this is the perfect place to stargaze!

Day 3 : Day 3: Chaquicocha – Intipata – Wiñay Wayna

With the hard part of the Inca Trail well and truly over, you can relax and enjoy the easiest and arguably most interesting day of the Trek. Today’s route is extremely varied, and it is only a 5-hour walk to the final campsite. Along the way, you will pass through several different ecosystems, experience the atmospheric cloud forest, and observe the magnificent panoramic view of Salkantay Mountain (the second-highest in Cusco). We will visit two Inca sites, Phuyupatamarka (City in the Clouds) with spectacular views of the Urubamba River and the Machu Picchu Mountain and Intipata (Terraces of the Sun). At Intipata, there will be time to rest and take in your magical surroundings. We will reach the campsite at approximately 1:00 pm to have lunch, and you can then enjoy some free time to relax and unwind. Later in the afternoon, we will visit the important Inca site of Wiñay Wayna, where your guide will explain the history of this remarkable location. We will then return to the campsite for tea and dinner and a special surprise!

Day 4 : Day 4: Discover Machu Picchu – Cusco

On our final day of the Inca Trail, we have to get up very early to prepare for the highlight of your TreXperience, visiting Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas. We will go straight to the checkpoint and wait until it opens at 5:30 am. As the sky brightens, we will walk for an hour to the Sun Gate, taking in the stunning views along the way. On a clear day, you can watch the spectacular sunrise over Machu Picchu from the Sun Gate, which is truly an unforgettable sight. We will then start our one-hour descent towards Machu Picchu, arriving at the final control point at around 7:30 am. Your guide will take you on a two-hour comprehensive tour of the city before leaving you in Machu Picchu to explore on your own or climb either Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (tickets must be booked as far in advance as possible). Your guide will explain how to take the bus from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes for lunch and then take the train and bus back to Cusco. The TreXperience Team will meet you off the train and return you safely to your hotel.

The most amazing service you could think of!

We did the classic 4 days Inca Trail with Walter as a guide and it was the most amazing trip. Trexperience is a great company and we could definitely see that it provided higher service than other companies and probably at a lower price. For example, only our group got to take a hot shower and the food was simply amazing. Think appetizers, soup, 2-3 main courses and on the last dag we even got an amazing cake! The history information we received was interesting and entertaining and Walter has great jokes. Also, he made us feel very safe throughout the trip and all of his clients ever got to Machu Picchu. I would really recommend this company. Small groups, amazing service and great value for money.

What an amazing experience it was to walk the Inca Trail with Trexperience! This local tour operator offers Impeccable, personable and high quality service. We were only 8 people in our group, including our family of 4.. We were all picked up from our different hotels in a new van a taken to the starting point; we were also dropped off at the end. Our guide Elvis Roque spoke excellent English, had vast knowledge of Inca history (he held a degree in tourism) and was extremely considerate of our needs as well as the porters’. Our second guide Maribel Tumpay Quispe was the group’s kind caretaker. She would wait patiently for any hiker who would lag behind whilst taking photos, made sure we were warm enough, had enough water, etc. Our chef Carmelo would bring out delicious meals every time. We never understood how he could produce such masterpieces in a camping tent. Our porters were incredibly hard working, attentive and well mannered. It was so nice to arrive to a perfectly set up camp at the end of the day, even under torrential rain, hot drinks and all! Additionally, we got to witness the projects Trexperience has created to support the local community. I have no doubts in recommending these guys. They are AMAZING.

Inca- 4 day, 3 night Inca trail

This tour was amazing. Our hosts were Marco and Maribel. Prior to the tour all of the information was communicated clearly and any questions I had via email replied promptly. The group was mixed but so much fun. There were different levels of fitness but there was always a guide at the back and lots of support. At times this trek was very hard but there was lots of stops and breaks and it was all at our own pace. The scenery is incredible. The food was amazing, Celso is a genius. The porters work so hard but are obviously cared for. Marco provided informed commentary at each site and “story time” was my favourite. I learnt so much about Inca history. Maribel was so kind and gentle with all of the group. I am a solo female hiker aged 47 and would highly recommend for others in same position.

Best Inca Trail Hike!

First of all this tour was simply amazing... Of course being on such a hike as the Inca Trail you would expect spectacular views and a great workout but that is not why this tour was so great.. I was with a group of 4 people and the TreXperience service was 11/10 from beginning to end! The service provided by our tour guide (Walter) and by our porters was fantastic. The whole TreXperience team had a real family vibe which made all of us feel very welcome and comfortable. This travel company helps support the local Inca (Kechua) communities by hiring locals to help run the tour. A lot of their proceeds also go towards helping the local Inca communities develop and thrive. This makes for a much more genuine experience and one you won’t forget. Walter’s knowledge of Inca history was inspiring and his passion for the local Inca (Kechua) community heart warming. Hearing the history from a direct descendent of the Incas makes for a really genuine experience. The food as well was perfecto and we actually had our own cook the entire time! Each time we had lunch and dinner it was a three course meal and every time we arrived to our campsite our Porters had already set up our tents and sleeping bags (one would think you were glamping!) Our tour guide Walter was always very clear and well prepared and would make it a point to check in on us and make sure we had everything we needed as well as making sure we were well aware of possible weather changes. Walter also has a great sense of humor which makes for a fun and memorable 4-day hike. We always felt safe and always felt looked after. If I was to ever recommend an Inca Trail Tour Company to anyone it would be with TreXperience.

Fab trek through the Andes

I hiked the classic Inca trail guided by the excellent Elisban in early January. This wonderfully organised and well priced four-day tour is an absolute no-brainer if you are looking for something truly authentic and an experience that you will never forget. The staff, made entirely of locals, is absolutely outstanding. You will be looked after from start to finish, as Trexperience go out of their way to deliver the best possible experience. A special mention goes to the chef Leonardo and his sous chef wife Margo, who did nagic cooking amazing food to delight our palate. In conclusion, I can't recommend Trexperience highly enough.
