Day 1 : Welcome to the adventure !

Day 2 : First night in the middle of nowhere

After breakfast, pick up from your hotel by a comfortable vehicle and departure via the ferry to Douz.
Continue to Matmata to visit the troglodyte dwelling where you will be welcomed with a glass of tea, olive oil and bread…
Departure towards Douz, the desert gate
Arrival in Douz and meeting the camel drivers... Lunch and you will follow the rhythmic steps of the dromedaries for a hike of around 2 hours.
When you arrive at the camp site, you will look for wood and light the fire with the team.
Tent installation
Preparation of dinner over a wood fire with the preparation of a good sand bread (bread prepared in the embers). Typical Bedouin evening around the campfire and the songs of the camel drivers.

Day 3 : Exploration of Sidi Jemil

After breakfast, your trek continues towards the famous mausoleum of Sidi Jemil. Along the way, you will explore the path renowned for its flint formations, where you will stop to look for a few specimens before lunch. At the end of the day, you will reach the dunes of Sidi Jemil, a magnificent place to contemplate the white sand desert and witness a breathtaking sunset. Have dinner and spend the night in Sidi Jemil.

Day 4 : Towards the Infinite Dunes of Ommi Henda

Your adventure continues with an early wake-up call to admire the sunrise. After breakfast, you will resume your trek towards Ommi Henda, crossing the majestic dunes and the sea of sand as far as the eye can see. Lunch will be at Ouinat Rajah, followed by continuation towards Ommi Henda, where you will reach your last camp, surrounded by the magic of the stars and between the sand dunes.

Day 5 : Discovery of Zataya

After breakfast, you will resume your journey towards Zataya, with a picnic lunch. The day will end with dinner and an overnight stay at Zataya.

Day 6 : return to camp

After enjoying our last breakfast together, we will embark on our journey to Douz, where we will explore the bustling souk, immersing ourselves in the vibrant local culture. From there, we will venture towards the troglodyte village of Matmata, passing through the picturesque Berber village of Tamezret along the way, with a brief stop for photo opportunities. In Matmata, we will have the unique opportunity to visit a troglodyte house, where we will be treated to a tasting of local bread and virgin olive oil, paired with pure honey, followed by a delightful cup of tea infused with rosemary, generously provided by our gracious host family (tipping recommended). Lunch will be served in a homestay, offering a taste of authentic Tunisian cuisine. Finally, we will head back to our original destination (Djerba, Tunis, or Tozeur), where we will check into our accommodations at a luxurious four-star hotel.

Day 7 : Departure
