Tipping and Gratuities
Tipping while on holiday is common in most parts of the world and Southeast Asia is no exception. However, it is not always clear who it is appropriate to tip and how much. Furthermore, travellers may not have the right amounts of cash available at the right time. In order to avoid any inconvenience Wendy Wu Tours operates a tipping policy where a stated amount is given to your national escort at the beginning of your tour and tips are disbursed to local guides and drivers throughout your tour. The amount is designed to be at a reasonable level for travellers while being fair to the local people and includes a gratuity for the national escort. If you are travelling in a smaller group with local guides only, then tipping is paid in each destination. To be fair to the guides we ask for slightly higher amounts per traveller with small groups. We generally find that most customers appreciate the convenience of our tipping policy, but we do recognise that it may not suit everyone. However, as this is a group tour we ask that everyone follows the same protocol to be fair to other group members and to ensure smooth operation of your tour.

If, after our confirmation invoice has been issued, you wish to change your travel arrangements in any way, we will endeavour to make these changes, but it may not always be possible. Any changes to confirmed bookings need to be sent to us in writing via your travel agent. Please refer to our booking conditions for further information and fees.
Customers booking to travel solo can choose our ‘Happy to Share’ option, which may enable them to share a twin room with other solo customers of the same gender who also request Happy to Share, thus avoiding the need to pay single room supplements. Note that ‘Happy to Share’ requests can be received when you make your booking with us but will not be confirmed until your final payment due date.
Your Final Travel Documents are usually sent to you 2-3 weeks prior to your departure. Your travel pack will include your tour itinerary, hotel details, flight e-tickets and a travel guide. If you have booked with a travel agent, your tickets will be dispatched to your travel agent unless we have been otherwise informed.
Our passengers generally enjoy the mixture of British, Australian and American clients on tour. Occasionally we are joined by English-speaking passengers from other countries.
We allow children 12 years and over on our group tours. We recommend that families with children of any age take advantage of our private or tailormade tours. This will give you more flexibility while on tour.

Angkor was amazing and Cambodia very interesting. Most of the places in Vietnam were very good and Halong Bay spectacular. The tour was well-organised and the guides very friendly and knowledgeable. Some hotels were excellent, but some could have been better, but, they were all clean well looked after and in very good locations. The food was generally very good except for the odd occasion and at times a bit too much of the same cuisine but to be fair we did have some different meals offered on the tour. less....

We had the most amazing holiday. We travelled as a family with our 2 sons who are 16 and 20. Our tour guides, Vuttha in Cambodia and Win Win in Vietnam were exceptional. Through them, we gained valuable insight into the countries history and culture. They both had a very good sense of humour which we appreciated. Nothing was too much trouble, and they ensured that we were happy with how things were at all points of the tour. They looked after us as if we were their family ....they provided us with safety advice to each area we visited and made sure we always had enough water, bug spray and sunscreen etc. The content of the tour was incredible. We can still not get our heads around what we managed to see within the time that we were there. Every place we visited was interesting, and we were given a wealth of information about it. Every day of the tour gave us food for thought and contemplation. The food was a good mix of local food and the odd western meal. The hotels were all of very good standard but variable with the facilities depending on the hotel location. For example, one of the city hotels had a small hot tub and no pool. This did not bother us as there was always something to do. The transport was all of good quality and the drivers were polite and helpful. We did 8 flights in total, 4 of them domestic. The tour guides ensures that we were all checked in and that we were aware of what gate to go to. We were escorted to the airport in the last day by a local guide called Vinh who was a very knowledgeable and polite young man...one to watch out for ! We recommend Wendy Wu tours to everyone. We will definitely book again. A few of the people who we were on tour with were seasoned Wendy Wu travellers... a very good recommendation in itself ! It was so nice to go away and have everything taken care of. Thanks to everyone who made this the best family holiday we have ever had less....
